DESCRIPTION
- Pipe wrenches are adjustable wrenches used on pipes, as the name suggests. Typically, pipe wrenches are used on threaded pipes made of metal, such as black iron, galvanized steel, or similar materials. Two tightened serrated jaws on a pipe wrench dig into the pipe to provide a firm grasp. Different pipe sizes can be accommodated by adjusting the upper serrated jaw up and down. A pipe wrench's distinctive feature is that, as you can see above, its teeth only hold when the wrench is turned in a single direction, making it function somewhat like a ratchet wrench.
